SEX WORK IS WORK
"i would call it dystopian if it weren't so fucking american."

SEX WORK on LAST WEEK TONIGHT with john oliver

to finally hear someone mainstream talking about what sex workers have been saying for years feels incredible and almost unbelievable. i don't know what it means for change or the future, but this was so fucking overdue, and it's good to have something digestible to share with people who are unaware of what's been happening. i often find it hard to explain the myriad of issues sex workers face or talk about why banning sexuality on internet platforms (like tumblr, the app store, or instagram when it's anyone other than a nude kardashian) hurts us as a culture without getting emotional or "too" passionate, so now at least i can have john oliver and his team do it for me.

i hope i see more people fighting back at the corporations, politicians, and religious interests who are trying to dictate where human sexuality is allowed to exist in our lives. i fear most people won't realize what's missing until it's gone.
