KLINGON RIOT ACID PUNK DEMOS
songs recorded whenever, wherever, in questionable quality.
BAND AUDITIONS: in search of a singer. "auditions" are pretty tough -- jk, you're in.
written while wandering the crowded streets of "little portugal" amidst the contagious enthusiasm of the world cup. shout out to the vampire armand, french bengali smokeshow that he is.
i was wandering around my new neighbourhood playing guitar (as lonely weirdos are wont to do on a saturday evening), and two handsome, inebriated, dark-skinned gentlemen stopped me and asked me to play a mariachi song. often when i'm asked to play something i have to say, "sorry, i don't know that, i'm from the '90s" but guess what, not this saturday, because in my back pocket i do have a mariachi song written right here in montréal two summers ago!
we played on the street corner, the two gentlemen being spectacular hype-men to the indifferent passers-by. when our performance was complete, as we commiserated over the struggles of creating art, they told me i should post the song on instagram.
which i did, but obviously it should be here too. fuck meta.
a little instrumental protest song for our trans sisters, brothers, and siblings. and kind of a tribute to the brilliant canadian indie alternative band transistor sound and lighting co. they cannot stop us all.
a song i wrote over a weekend in between episodes of the wire's fourth season. the title was inspired by one bodie broadus.
